It's been a month...

Well, it has been over a month since I have updated the blog. We have been busy with soccer. I think B is finally getting the hang of things for the first few games he was that kid. You know the one who is staring off into space as the ball went by him. It took everything I had not to be that mom. But, in the big picture he is having a blast.

B has also become a big Cal Poly sports fan. At the first football game of the year, Jeff and he were asked t0 be ball boys. B scored a picture with the cheerleaders. Jeff scoped out one of the 49ers who was there watching his little brother. Last Friday was Mott Madness. A couple of the players who worked the camp remembered him and had him come down on the court with them for a picture. He was pretty amped.

For B's birthday, we bought tickets to see Montgomery Gentry in Pozo. They are one of B's favorite country groups. He has been rocking out to "Gone" ever since I can remember. When he cleans his room their CD is often blaring. The concert was a blast. A local group was one of the openers. B bought a hat so he could get it signed by the band. One of the event staff saw that B was singing and rocking out to the the MG songs offered to get try and get his "do rag" he bought signed by MG. And she did.

Addy has turned into quite the little climber. If she can climb it, she does. B's bunk bed ladder is her favorite apparatus of choice. I lost one morning while making breakfast and found on his ladder. For all you safety freaks, we keep his door shut at all times now and are teaching her to climb down. She also loves to play with her Dad and brother not matter what they are doing, which includes sticking her in a trash can.

HummBaby, the Giants are in the playoffs. I was lucky enough to be able to go with my Grandma, Uncle Joe and Auntie Gail to Game 1 of the NLDS. The atmosphere in the ballpark was incredible. And Timmy was lights out! It is a good thing I have had the Giants to watch because football season has been pretty disappointing so far.

Our family held the First Fight like a Girl mini Triathlon last weekend. We held the event to honor and in support of our cousin Joannie who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, along with other loved ones who are battling, who are survivors and who have passed from cancer. The family really rallied together to show their love. Much love and aloha to everyone!

Happy Birthday Addy!

Ok, so I promise this is the last of the heartfelt blogs for awhile. But like I said, the last 3 weeks have been filled with Clarin occasions. So much has been happening that I ended up with the shingles. After to several texts and phone calls to my inner circle, we cancelled the party and I was assured that Addy wouldn't remember, hold it against me or be the reason she has to go to therapy later in life.

Happy Birthday Addysen Malia! You are truly blessing! You have a changed our lives in only a way that you could! We can't imagine what our lives without you! You completed us! We love you! Here's to you on your first birthday and many more to come!

For those that know me you will understand when I say that I have truly met my match. She knows what she wants, she will let you know and won't stop until she gets it. She is always going full steam ahead like at B's birthday party she bounced off a wall head first (Remind you of anyone.) Addy pushes the limits and take it to the edge. A couple of weeks ago, she followed Snuka out into the ocean. I was walking beside her the whole time when I picked her up she was in about knee deep. And today while we were getting ready to open presents, Addy was standing on a chair. I told her, "on your butt." She told me something back. I told her again, she told me again then laughed. Addy Malia, this will be a fun roller coaster ride! Just remember I am your mom yesterday, today, forever and always.

10 years!

Jeffrey and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary last week. We went to lunch, did a little wine tasting, went to Farmer's Market, had dinner at Firestone, and enjoyed cupcakes and nice bottle of wine. It wasn't actually what we had planned after 10 years of marriage and having 2 kids you learn to be flexible, make the most of it and live for the moment. It turned out to be a great day!

By far the best part of the day was a book from Jeff that he prepared with some of his most memorable moments from the last 10 years. It blew me away in part because I can remember having a "discussion" about not getting even a card on an occasion one year. Now, he is the one with the most amazing card ever. (FYI, I didn't sign my card this year. Yes, I am turning into my mother. No comments from the peanut gallery.)

I am so lucky to have met him that night while he was pumping the keg. I got even luckier when Gina told him that I wanted him to be the father of my children. And what an awesome dad he is! He loves me and all that comes with it.

From looks like these...and well let's just say a "supefinger" every now and then.

Jeff, thank you for making me that fire on the night that we met(I knew then I would have to start all our campfires in the future, but I learned years later if I need a squirrel caught you were the right man for the job.), for being there when I rolled my parents car coming home from the wedding where I wished it was me and you getting married (Little did I know it wasn't in your plans until you were 27.), for taking the time to ask my dad for my hand in marriage, understanding that softball is my bones, for being the father of our children, and for always bringing a smile to my heart even though I might not show on my face. Thank you for loving me for who I have been, who I am and who I will be. And thank you for being my ROCK. I love you with all my heart!

Happy Birthday B!

Happy Birthday B!
I remember his 1st birthday party. (I don't know if Roni or Jeffrey do, but I do.) It was quite the party almost 200 people, but I can't find a picture of it for the life of me. No comments from the peanut gallery about the fact that I hardly ever take pictures. Those that know me know I usually rely on the pictures that other people take. I do have a pictures of birthdays 2-7 that I posted on Facebook and I will admit that I probably didn't take any of them.

B lives it up and loves life. He truly lives in the moment happy, sad, mad, excited and all the in betweens. There are times that I am so amazed because he just gets it. When he was born, he brought something special to our family. He has and is growing up and we are so proud of him. Branden is a great big brother, a wonderful son, and is a caring loving boy to everyone he meets. (Including the other 2nd grader whose mom was late picking her on the same day I forgot to pick B up at school. He took her to the office, opened the door for her and said to her as they went in the door, "Don't worry Ms. Hizey will help us and she will make it better.") He has taught us some much in the last 7 years and I am sure he will continue to in years to come. He is perfectly Branden. We are truly blessed and thankful for him everyday.
