Catch-up Post...Summer is over, School has started, the addition is close

Summer is over. School has started and the addition is close.

B finished out his summer with Sea Life camp. He really enjoyed the week in Avila. They fished on the pier and he caught the first fish of the summer, which they put in a tank. The kids helped take care of the animals including trying get the octopus to eat. While B was camp, Addy and I walked the Bob Jones trail, discovered a new favorite coffee shop, Joe Momma's, and had a play date with Blake.
B is the one with out his shirt on and the fohawk.
Addy is crashed during our walk on the Bob Jones trail.

We spent the next couple of days living it up before school started.

The kids enjoying dinner at the Cracked Crab
At the Ravine in Paso, definitely will put this on our calendar more next summer.

More highlights...
B started 2nd grade. He wore this the second day of school. Me: B maybe you should change your shirt. It doesn't really match. B: Mom, I know, That's my style.

Addy is a walker, screamer, and loves to empty drawers.

We went to the Olive Festival to say Hi to Julie and Mike. Highly recommended their olive oil Calivirgin, it is really good stuff. The Olive Festival is also one of the best festival I have been to on the central coast.
Addy and Jules at the Festival.

The family room of the addition is complete. The yard is super close (the question is to have plants or a water feature.) The bathroom tile is complete and our master bedroom gets carpet tomorrow.

Clarin celebrations in the next few weeks stay tuned....

July flew by...

I can't believe summer has flown by. I feel like the month of July has been on double time.

We continued to spend most afternoon in July at the Avila pool. Addy and I hang out in the water while B is busy with swimming lessons. Both of the kids are comfortable in the water and are better swimmers than their Dad.

B spent last week at the Pit (local MMA gym) summer camp. He had a blast and practically begged for us to sign him up classes. So, we did. He went to his first class last week was a little bit nervous until he saw his favorite instructor Bulldog.

This month has filled with making progress on the addition. The rooms are painted. We have carpet in the family room, which the kids love to play on. And it was just in time for Addy because she is determined to figure out walking and for Jeff and B to have a place to wrestle.
We have all the finishes to tie up baseboard, tile, electrical, B's room, exterior painting and the clean-up. We, which I say very loosely because I ditched out for a couple of hours to spend with a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in years, even made an attempt at re-organizing our garage. We are trying to prioritize our long list of "things to do". Josh finished up the electrical, which completes the family room, along with a purchase from Ikea.
Addy is a busy walking and climbing little girl.
So it is definately time for her to sport her Nikes.
She loves hang with her brother while he listens to music in his room. Lately it has been ACDC but most of the time they rock out to country music.
A couple of times he has shut his door because he just wants a little time to himself, he playing with his legos or cleaning things up and she will sit at the door and scream until he opens it. She also seems to enjoy when he carries her around the house which makes me nervous or pushes her in the plastic bin.
B got his haircut this month. Here are the before and after pics.
We topped off the end of month with a Giants game with the Coldani girls. It was a blast and the kids entertained themselves with snacks, signs, binoculars, and did I mention snacks. There were so many snacks and sippy cups that Julie and I forgot to get snacks and drinks of our own. B took a pic by Grandma's brick.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as we are.

No June Gloom Here... (may take a bit to load)

We started off the month by finishing up the Tball season. B and Jeff had a great season! B's baseball card came back with an error. And no I didn't write anything on the knob of his bat, his name was mispelled. For those of you that are curious to the reference look up Billy Ripken error card. Next year is Rookie ball.

B finished his school year strong. He received an award for attendance and his report card showed that he made great progress during first grade. 2nd Grade, here we come!
The plan for the summer is to stay busy. Week 1 of summer basketball camp at Nipomo HS conducted by CP Basketball.
B loved it so much, in spite a couple of bumps on the knoggin, we signed up for another camp. For Father's day we headed to the US Open. B got a broken tee for one of volunteers that she pulled off the tee box and a golfball from Scott VerPlank's caddy.

Week 2 was the start of swim lessons for both of the munchkins. Addy's mommy and me class turned out to be a private lesson. She loves to be in the water. B ended up in a combo class which took him to the deep end and off the lifeguard tower.
Week 3 more Bball camp and swim lessons. B was awarded Camper of day for the first day of basketball camp. He was pretty pumped.
This week we are also gearing up for July. We signed up for the summer reading program at the library, got a pedal brake put on his bike and bought walkie talkies because I can't keep up with B on the Bob Jones trail.
Addy is a little over 9 months.
Her stats 16lb 10oz and 27 inches. She is crawling everywhere, pulls herself up and cruises, and just this week is starting to try standing on her own. She enjoys to eat and is curious about whatever you are eating. She has began to babble dada, mamma, and we think we heard a papa last weekend. And yes, she still thinks her brother is the coolest ever even when he is shooting things at her out of his mouth. (Sorry the video is upside down)

May has come and gone...

It's June 6th. Where did the month of May go? We were busying with Tball and a few road trips. The first of the trips was to surprise my Mom on Mother's Day we pulled it off arriving at her doorstep while B had her looking for a delivery on the front porch.

Addy and I went to the Tour of California with her Fairy Godmothers. We had a blast!

Addy and Michelle @ the Shack Bus
On the morning before the San Jose stage we basically stalked the Radio Shack team.
We had a pretty successful stalking managing to get some autographs and photos.

Addy and Court at the Finish Line in Santa Cruz
We arrived so early that we were able to walk across the finish line.
We also gathered up lots of goodies including some cool Shack T-shirts.

Addy on Podium (look closely her shirt says "Max will you marry me?")
We are making a pitch for Addy to marry Lance's son Max. So Court made her a shirt to wear.

We squeezed in another trip to Prunedale to celebrate Paul's First Birthday on the weekend before Memorial Day. On Memorial Day, we headed to San Diego for one of Jeff's buddy's wedding. B had a good week at school(he has a little bit of spring fever, so the positive rewards are in full swing.) and Seaworld was his reward.

The Shark Tunnel
The picture was taken after B and I ran the wrong way on the tunnel to find Addy and Jeffy but before B freaked out because I lifted him up to see the sharks a little bit closer.
Addy and I sat on the edge of the Splash Zone while the boys went for it.
Watching Shamu in the tank before the show.

The Addition probably needs it own post. So I will get on that some time this week. But things are moving along. Some days it seems like it will never be finished and then some days I think oh my goodness I can't believe it is gonna be done soon. And the fun is starting to begin...picking paint colors, flooring options:)

Getting impatient...

Well, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel or I say the finish to the addition. Now, it is all about the budget, priorities, and choices. Here are some pics from the beginning to catch you up to speed

Now that I am uploading these pictures, I realize we did a terrible job of chronicling the progress of the addition. It is a good thing that my mom takes pictures of the kids because otherwise all they would have is camera phone pictures. Good thing the Driod has an 8 megapixel camera. So back to the house, the pictures above were the beginning stages.
We are now at the paint and flooring stage. The pictures from everything in between seem to be what's missing. (the windows and doors, the paper and lath, the different layers of stucco, the drywall, the tape, the texture, the removing of the wall) And what couldn't be captured in pictures the many discussions Jeffrey and I have had about the addition, and as of late paint colors and types of flooring. The paint has been settled. Huge thanks to my dad for coming down.
Up next, the yard, the flooring, and a little spring cleaning in the rest of the house.

A Catch-up Post...A Busy April!

April was a busy month. I don't we were home all together on any of the weekends. We were enjoying our new found freedom of not having a softball schedule to abid by.
Addy's First Easter Egg Hunt
Skyline Crew and Friends @Refugio
Our neighbors Ann and Cesar got engaged. They are telling B and I can't remember his exact words but it was classic B.
Jeff's birthday (and Cesar's too) while Addy and I were in AZ at Terra's wedding.
The Cal Poly and Prunedale Girls at Terra's Wedding. I should have been middle. You can take the girl out of Prunedale but you can't take Prunedale out of the girl.
The New Family Rivalry...like we need more to argue about. And B is so caught in the middle about this one. But I think I have pulled him back from the darkside.
The Big Sur Relay
